Never remove dust from your car by rubbing hard with a dry cloth. Wash your car regularly with plain water and then wipe dry.

Bird droppings also need to be washed off immediately. They contain acids that harm the paint film.
Replace bulky plastic car covers with soft, thin ones. In a climate like ours, bulky covers trap air, creating high humidity levels inside. They may also leave scratch marks on the paint surface.
Rust is your car body's biggest enemy. So the moment you see rust affecting any part of your car, get it repainted immediately, before the problem spreads to other areas.
Try and find parking space in shade. Prolonged exposure to the UV rays of the sun affects the paint film.
Rubbing and polishing before monsoon increases the water repellency of your paint, and protects it better.

Wash your car at least once a month with a mild soap solution. Make sure you remove all traces of soap by washing your car with plain water.
Washing with soap and water is the best remedy to any chemical spillage, staining, oil spillage or marks caused by tar or brake fluids. The important thing is to wash off the spillage as soon as possible after exposure.
