Improperly cleaning a car before washing is one of the main reasons for fine scratches to a car's paint.

• Put one capful of car shampoo into a bucket and fill it 3/4 of the way with water.
• Never remove dust from your car by rubbing hard with a dry cloth. Hose or use dust remover to remove any dirt.
• Cloth rag in the bucket of soapy water and sponge the roof to tyres of the car.
• Remove the soap from the roof by cleaning thoroughly.
• Take a towel and dry the car thoroughly to remove water spots.

A bird can create one of the most damaging “natural disasters” to a car’s paint. Bird droppings need to be washed off immediately. They contain acids that harm the paint film.

Rust is your car body's biggest enemy. So the moment you see rust affecting any part of your car, get it repainted immediately, before the problem spreads to other areas.

Try to find a parking space in the shade. Prolonged exposure to the UV rays of the sun affects the paint film.
